This is a unique opportunity for a Chartered Structural Engineer to work across a diverse group of related companies, including an architectural practice, construction firm and a light-gauge steel business.
Unlike a traditional consultancy position, you will primarily deliver structural engineering services for internal projects. You’ll work closely with architects, designers, construction professionals and steel specialists from concept through to completion.
The successful candidate must be a Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng) with proven experience across commercial, residential and light-gauge steel structures.

- Coordinating with architects, designers, steel specialists and construction teams
- Developing practical, efficient and buildable structural solutions
- Supporting projects from initial concept through to construction
- Undertaking site inspections and resolving technical issues
- Ensuring designs comply with the New Zealand Building Code and relevant standards
- Contributing to the ongoing development of internal engineering systems and processes
To be considered for this position, you must be a Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng) in New Zealand.
You will also need:
- Proven structural engineering experience across commercial and residential projects
- Strong experience with light-gauge steel structures
- Sound knowledge of New Zealand building codes and structural standards
- Experience producing and reviewing structural calculations and documentation
- The ability to provide engineering certification and producer statements
- A practical understanding of construction methods and buildability
- Strong communication and stakeholder-management skills
- The ability to work collaboratively across multiple businesses and disciplines
- A commercial and solutions-focused approach
- The ability to manage multiple projects and priorities
- The right to work permanently in New Zealand
