Our client is a well-established hydraulic and engineering business seeking an experienced Hydraulic Technician / Mechanical Fitter.
The Role
- Operate manual lathes and workshop machinery
- Repair, rebuild, and service hydraulic components
- Rebuild pumps, motors, valves, and cylinders
- Carry out cylinder repairs including re-tubing, re-shafting, and re-sealing
- Fault-find hydraulic and mechanical issues
- Maintain high workshop and safety standards
- Participate in a shared on-call roster
- 50/50 time onsite and local travel for call outs
What We Are Looking For
- Trade qualification or strong hands-on experience in hydraulics, fitting & turning, machining, or mechanical engineering
- Experience operating manual lathes and precision tools
- Strong fault-finding ability
- High attention to detail and pride in workmanship
- Reliable, practical, and able to work independently
- Full clean NZ driver’s licence
- Flexibility for overtime and on-call work
- Forklift certification a plus
