About the opportunities
Jigsaw Staffing is seeking expressions of interest from experienced CNC Programmer/Machinists for current and upcoming permanent positions with established engineering and manufacturing businesses.
These opportunities may suit machinists who enjoy producing high-quality components, solving technical challenges and taking ownership of jobs from programming and setup through to final inspection.
Key responsibilities may include
- Programming CNC mills, lathes or machining centres
- Setting up machines, tooling, fixtures and workholding
- Producing one-off, prototype and production components
- Reading and interpreting engineering drawings
- Selecting appropriate tooling, speeds and feeds
- Completing in-process measurements and quality checks
- Troubleshooting programming and machining issues
- Maintaining accurate tolerances and high standards of workmanship
- Supporting continuous improvement within the workshop
- Proven CNC programming and machining experience
- Experience operating CNC mills, lathes or machining centres
- Confidence programming either at the machine or through CAD/CAM software
- Strong knowledge of tooling, materials, speeds and feeds
- The ability to read technical drawings and work to tight tolerances
- Experience with Fanuc, Fagor, Mazatrol, Heidenhain, Siemens or similar controls
- A relevant trade qualification or substantial practical experience
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- A commitment to quality and safe working practices
- Experience with manual machining, fitting, fabrication or welding may also be advantageous.
